The 4th of July is a time when we all want to show our feelings for this great country we live in. Celebrating this day comes in many forms many have a barbecue, picnics, attend political events, and attend the all time favorite past time a hometown team Baseball Game. Decorating your home is a great way to show patriotism and is a very easy thing to do during the summer. First start by lining your drive with Flags On Staffs Dozen, add Patriotic Bunting Each to your porch rail, and adorn the front door with a beautiful American Star Wreath.
As your guest arrives, they will find your American Spirit doesn’t stop at the front drive. Chose a tablecloth that supports your country, add red, white and blue fork, spoons and knifes finally pick up these fun star plates.
Your guest will feel welcomed to the gathering wanting to enjoy the BBQ, picnic, or friendly game of baseball in the backyard.
After everyone is settled its time to be thankful for this Independence Day, we celebrate this day because the Declaration of Independence was signed declaring our Independence from Great Britain. Having worked hard to gain our great nation has developed many different customs and traditions.
Most everyone celebrates this national holiday by displaying some type of patriotic symbol. Weather we add a Flag out front of the house, attend a parade or fireworks show we all want to be involved in this great day of celebration.
If you are in need of ideas start by hosting a picnic. Ask all your friends and relatives to bring a favorite dish. In addition, you as the host my just provide a great desert like this Fourth of July Cake be sure to watch the second part of creating a 4th of July Cake. Not so brave to make a cake then just have plenty of candies around so everyone can satisfy their sweet tooth. Decorations of course are in red, white, and blue.
End your celebration by attending the local fireworks display. Many shows also have patriotic songs that go along with the show. It is probably best, for safety reasons, to attend a show rather than have fireworks at your home. Many states ban the use of fireworks. Show especial consideration if your area has not had rain, or is a very dry area.
Many military bases also offer a variety of events on the 4th of July. Some bases or units offer a “salute to the nation.” This involves a one-gun salute for each of the 50 states. This is very similar to the familiar 21 gun salute.
For some additional fun on this great Independence Day, take the family to a local baseball game, and treat everyone to a hot dog and soda. Many major league teams offer specials on tickets and often provide outstanding firework shows at the end of the game. No major league team no problem there are many minor league teams around or maybe just the local high school or college game would be a nice outing for the family.
As you can see, there are many ways we celebrate this important holiday the Fourth of July. Don’t forget to remember that because of all the military and citizen of this great country we were able to obtain and keep our freedom for 234 years. Take time out of this day of celebration to thank and pray for all the men and women who keep us safe and free each and every day.
